Why visit Le Mas des Îles?
Pont Saint Esprit is a charming medieval town, ideally situated north of the Gard in the Occitaine region, 4 km from the River Ardèche and the Drome in the Rhône Alpes region. Once you cross the bridge, you are in the Vaucluse (in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region).
You can spend your days visiting châteaux, beautiful villages and the many UNESCO heritage sites nearby, or concentrate on outdoor
activities in a part of the world where the weather is always perfect
Easy to reach by car, train or bicycle
Come by car, by train, or even by bike – or choose the no-car option
The scents and tastes of Provence
Our fruit farm covers 100 hectares. We grow the fruits of Provence: cherries, apricots, pears, apples, kiwis and – of course – vines and lavender.
Good food and good company
Our table d’hôte is very special: local produce, barbecues, and pizza evenings, cooking in the wood-fired oven. We even have a diploma allowing us to cook pizza Neapolitan-style, as classified “World Heritage” by UNESCO, for our pizza evenings with our guests
<br /> In this quiet, green hamlet, everyone is part of the same family
SWhen you stay in our family hamlet you are in the heart of the country, but still only 10 minutes on foot from the centre of Pont Saint Esprit
In harmony with the environment
We care passionately about protecting nature, and are part of many initiatives to preserve the environment and encourage local production
Pets welcome
We love animals!
If your four-footed friends are good at mixing and sociable, then they are most welcome

Cycling trips
Le Mas des Îles lies at kilometre 193 of the “ViaRhôna”, a green track which leads from Lake Geneva right down to the Mediterranean Sea. The gîte has specific services to offer cyclists: . A stay with us is a restful and pleasant break during a cycling holiday in Provence. Part of your stay can be spent discovering new and interesting side-trips!
Hiking on foot
Le Mas des Îles is on the route of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage, which follows the Rhône valley and passes through Montpellier. Among the many possible hikes in the region we would suggest one of 170 kilometres, taking you from Pont Saint Esprit all the way to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
A weekend away
Le Mas des Îles offers themed getaways, like pizza or bread-making workshops, or discovering the treasures of Provence/Gard. We offer 1 or 2-night stays, all-included, at a very competitive price. Come and enjoy Sylvie’s wood-oven pizzas and home-made bread — a complete change of scenery!
Wine and gastronomy tourism
Become a true connoisseur of the wines of Côtes du Rhône. We can offer advice, walks in the vineyards around the gîte, visits et wine-tastings. The winemakers will share their passions with you as you taste the wines in their friendly company.
Guided tours
Le Mas des Îles also offers professionally-guided visits. Aline, the house’s very own tour-guide, can propose guided visits to various places in Provence. She really knows all the places where you can see and feel the Middle Ages with your very own eyes and ears.
What our visitors have to say
Sylvie and Aline are charming and welcoming hostesses.
The Corto Maltese room opens directly out onto the swimming pool.
Breakfast on the terrace, with fresh fruit salad, bread and morning pastries, etc.
Good food around the communal table, and Sylvie’s pizza evening (best pizza in the world!)
A really enjoyable stay.
Highly recommended.
Surrounded by orchards and vineyards, Le Mas des Îles is ideally situated at the heart of a region rich in medieval villages and beautiful landscapes, and close to the Gorges of the River Ardèche. Aline and
Sylvie gave us the warmest of welcomes, and shared both their knowledge and their culinary talents with us. The accommodation is very well-equipped with everything you might need, and spotless. I would recommend this place to stay without a moment’s hesitation. .
